An unusual 3-string instrument with slides
Welcome to Misfit: an unusual collection of 18 deeply sampled instruments.
After we stripped away the best equipment, the most modern studios, the most expensive instruments and even the best musicians, only the soul remained. This is exactly what we wanted to study: a human, urban and unique product.
The 3 Stringed Diddley Bow was made from a metal biscuit box, a wooden stick and three guitar strings. For the slides, we used the neck of a bottle, which allowed us to achieve a completely unique sound. We recorded it with two different mic positions and used a true gelato technique to capture both fast and slow slides.
Our idea was to go back to the roots of modern music, bringing a rough and tumble tone with the aroma of authentic old-style blues. We’ve also included our Chaos FX Engine 3.3, so you’re not only getting a unique product, but also a suite of effects that will give you unlimited possibilities.
