Waverunner Audio’s Church Bells puts the beautifully captured bells of a historic English church at your fingertips. Each of the 12 bells was recorded from 4 positions in several round-robin tournaments in and around the church; we climbed ladders and laid many meters of cable to 2 positions on the roof, 1 churchyard and 1 position on the bell tower. The result is a flexible, easy-to-play church bell with a rich, authentic sound. In addition to the traditional rope pulling technique, we took the opportunity to capture a second unique articulation; walked through the scaffolding of the bell tower, tapping the bell with his hand. This rarely heard sound is reproduced using two microphones in the bell tower. The sound has a softer timbre with a more intimate sound. Includes bonus Bell Synth; an organic synthesizer created using the spectral information of bells.
