Banjo Welcome to Misfit: an extraordinary collection of 18 deeply sampled instruments.
After we stripped away the best gear, the most modern studios, the most expensive instruments, and even the best musicians, all that was left was the soul. This is what we wanted to explore: a human, urban, and unique product.
Misfit Banjo is a superb (3600 samples), accurate replica of a real banjo. We recorded it with two mic positions (close and distant/room) so you can play in the right perspective. We also recorded real gelato and glissando transitions. Plus, we added intelligent strumming recognition, so if you play more than one note, additional effects and noises will be added.
The banjo is one of the hallmarks of real American folk. When played by a professional in the best studios in the world, it sounds great! But when it’s performed by a simple guy like you or me, sitting in front of his trailer on a sunny day and chewing tobacco, it sounds special: it has its own soul.
Our idea was to go back to the roots of modern music, to bring in a rough and tumble shade with the aroma of authentic folk.
