Hang is a percussion instrument, a metallophone. Handpan by Ergo Kukke is a magical journey through the D minor and chromatic scales. This special hang is made of thick nitrided steel, which gives it a softer, more cinematic sound.

It resonates in such a way that it can be used for rhythmic play, and it also has a tail section that is perfect for meditative and slow performance. Handpan, also known as Hang or Pan Drum, has a mesmerizing sound that will transport you to a realm of serenity and inspiration.

With a 22″ / 56 cm diameter and hand-tuned, this console is recorded in high-resolution 192 kHz stereo, and the goal was to convey the sound of the console as you would hear it playing on your lap. Now available in your DAW. Handpan delivers a mesmerizing sound in both D minor and extended chromatic scales.

Pro D minor presets – the instrument’s resonances are most natural and consistent in the pan body. If it were tuned, the small resonances between notes would be offset. So it’s more natural and easy to get used to this way of playing.
Pro chromatic settings – allow you to expand the instrument to any scale you desire.

• Finger – main way of playing
• Multi or many fingers – for a more crowded sound.
• Air Vibration – a method of changing air pressure above the played note by waiving the hand
• Thumb – usually the closest notes to the body are played with the thumb
• Nail – for a more snappy and percussive sound, you can play with your finger nails.
• Mute – for more rhythmic play or changing sound
• Mallet 1 – a rubber mallet
• Mallet 2 – a wooden mallet
• Inside – a sound, not recorded before, from the inside of the pan.
• Percussion and noise samples – for rhythms and realism
• Textures – these are loops to make your track feel more alive
• Bonus Rhythms – these happened on the fly while recording the instrument
• The Finger, Multi Finger, Air Vibration, Thumb, Nail, Mute, Mallet 1 & 2 are also available as chromatic – this expands the instrument beyond D-minor to a regular keyboard with all notes available.
