We’ve recorded one of the greatest solo double bassists of our time, principal double bassist of the BBC and other orchestras, sampling 88 articulations in ultra-deep detail, ranging from true polyphonic legato to a multitude of short note variations, dozens of velocity arcs, twelve different ostinatos and performance-based articulations. Recorded in controlled studio conditions at Scotland’s leading recording studio, Gorbals Sound, the double bass was captured in incredible detail and without compromise using dual-mic technology. This combined method allows you to freely switch between the direct signal and a more spacious ambience, giving you the ability to precisely adjust the position and distance of the double bass.
