Masterfully recorded at AIR Studios by resident engineer Jake Jackson, this unique metal sound will add to your percussion collection.
The aluphone is a two-and-a-half octave chromatic set of aluminum bells played primarily with marimba sticks, as well as a variety of mallets, both decaying and sustained, with a wide variety of dynamic layers and round melodies.

This is one of the best scoring pads in the world. This is where we record the majority of our symphonic and percussion sample libraries, each designed to come together as a cohesive sonic whole. Recorded by seasoned AIR Studios engineer Jake Jackson through a host of treasured vintage microphones through Neve “Montserrat” preamps onto a well-maintained Studer 2″ tape recorder, then to digital at 96k resolution using the finest Prism AD converters.
Paul Clarvis has appeared in countless blockbusters as part of Hans Zimmer’s percussion team for decades. Clavis was also tasked with leading the original drum corps at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. He brings his technical prowess and passionate, collaborative spirit to every session.
